My Newest “Toy”.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active.

I went with The Galaxy since several friends have had them over the years and had few problems. I also had a Samsung flip phone once, that, until I got mad(understantement) one day and snapped it in half, was a good durable, reliable, phone. Basically having had some small experiance with the brand, as opposed to No experiance with other available brands, I played it as safe as I could. 😎

I was also drawn to the Galaxies, and the S4 in particular becasue of the Active version. The Actives are better built, and more durable(soposedly anyway… I’ll let you know how it actually is in the next few months 😉 ), being water proof to at least a meter(IIRC), and drop proof with no case, about a meter as well (IIRC) onto pavement.

Its basically built with a hard protective case, and rubber gaskets built in, making it protected, but slimmer than the basic model would be in an aftermarket case.     Other features of the Actives are an outdoors app/sensor set that includes a compass and barometer, along with a pretty dang bright LED light.

I had found out about, and researched the S4 Active. Went to get it, and found it discontinued. So I got the S5 Active. 😀

One fantastic thing in this, is that I got the new camera I’ve been needing wanting 😉 . After breaking my good 10MP camera last fall, I went back to my old one that is 7.1MP. It works, and once you learn to compose and process the shots right, its just as good as the other was.

But, its no contest compared to the 16MP camera on the S5! 😉
