River road and trail day

Work ended a lot earlier than expected yesterday afternoon, and when I headed home, I took a detour out to the state rec area, to the first campground, wanted to look at the river… Got carried away and spent the next 3 hours driving the park, checking out all the river access roads(“Road” is loose term here 😉 ) and some trails…  I’ve lived here 25 years and this is the first time I’ve been up some of those roads… Found some cool places that I’ll be taking the fishing and camping gear back to later!

Still ice on some of the ponds, and even snow on the far/high hills;

Some trails;

Some of these trails are barely wider than the truck… some are Not wider than the truck. In a few I thought that if I didn’t find a wide spot, or if it dead ended or got too muddy, I’d have to back out for a 1/4 mile or further… A couple places I DID back out a long ways.

A couple places I made about a 20 point turn in an area something between the width and length of the truck to turn around too 😉

Some of the trail ends I found;

Errosion from last years Epic record high water/wet summer. Some places were fun to drive past… Some were thankfully fixed this spring by parks and rec, but still rough(they used BIG granite boulders and minimal dirt so it wouldn’t wash out again);
